Performance
Enhancement |
|
| |
|
Performance Enhancement Training uses mental
strategies to help athletes become successful,
or to improve the performance of athletes
who have already achieved success and would
like to fine-tune
their current program.
|
| |
|
|

|
While athletes comprise most
of the individuals who seek
performance enhancement training,
the principles and strategies
used may be applied to other
disciplines, including the performing
arts. In addition, these strategies
that allow you to tap into your
full potential in one specific
area of your life, may enhance
your entire quality of life.
Performance Enhancement Training
is also valuable for coaches
or trainers who want to help
their clients become more successful
competitors. Coaches can learn
specifics, on how to help their
clients, by gaining an understanding
of the mental issues that affect
performance.

You may be a candidate for performance
enhancement training if:
· You are an elite athlete and would
like to improve
your performance
· You know you aren't playing up
to the level of
your physical abilities
· Competition isn't fun anymore
· You personally don't have performance
issues,
but some of your clients do and you would
like to improve your ability to work with
them
· You haven't competed in years,
but would like
to start
· You have never competed, are tired
of sitting on
the sidelines, but don't know where to start

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1) How long will
it take to see results?
Every individual is different. Some individuals
notice some improvements immediately just
following one session. With other individuals
it is a much more gradual process taking
six months to a year to achieve their particular
performance goals.
2) What are some
of the things athletes typically work on
during their sessions?
Again, each athlete is different, but some
common themes include: confidence building,
decreasing performance anxiety, improving
concentration, emotional regulation and
goal setting.
